Music to my ears, folks! I don’t know about anyone else, but isn’t it so emotionally exhausting to get attached to a new TV show, only to have it ripped away from you all too soon?
That’s what I feared this Spring as I allowed myself to get sucked into the ABC office comedy Better Off Ted. It was probably the most well written of all the new sitcoms to debut in 2009. And as you all know, I appreciate a good sitcom! Plus, Portia De Rossi stars in it. And we all know homegirl can pick her some quality TV projects!
So, since it is “Network Upfront” season, I was on pins and needles waiting for the network execs to decide on Better Off Ted’s fate. They were merciful…this time, anyway.
I will enjoy the 13 new episodes of Better Off Ted they have ordered, and urge you to do the same if you aren’t already planning to. You’re missing a gem of a comedy!
In related news, ABC ordered another season of Scrubs. Dumbest. Move. Ever. They’ve signed most of the current stars to do a handful of episodes, but the plan is to transition it to a new format that will mostly revolve around a new set of interns. I do not approve. Scrubs is and was the “Turk and JD Show”, and that’s how they should have let it end.
ABC also picked up a new show called “Cougar Town” starring Courteney Cox. Being a cougar-in-training, I’m intrigued.
