The World’s Largest Silverfish!

…is now dead, but not before attempting to crawl across my wall late last night! I thought I was going to have a panic attack, and I’m not even kidding. This sucka was HUGE! The largest one I’ve ever seen in my life and I’ve seen some big boys; especially in my basement. This guy must have been as long as the palm of my hand!

So, before calming down and drowning the intruder with a can of RAID (that’s how I roll), I managed to take a picture. It’s kind of blurry because I was freaking out, but you get the picture.

Ew.

Gross, right? I can hardly look at that picture without shuddering. Anyway, he’s gone now, and I hope this serves as a lesson to the rest of his kind. You may scare the crap outta me initially, but you’ll soon end up dead!

  1. LOLOLOL!! Yes my old house and practically every apartment that I have lived in have had those bastards living there too!!! They are horrible…they don't do anything but they can run faster than anything I've ever seen!! An they're are sneaky too, hiding in door jams and stuff. I'm grateful my new house does not have them!!!

Up here (in Ontario) a lot of us just call them centipieds…I've never thought of them as silverfish, but I guess they are. Just nasty!!

  2. Hey, this is actually a house centipede. I made that mistake too when I moved back to Cleveland and found them in my basement. I used to have silverfish in an apt I lived at school in Cincy, but these are similar (lots of legs and super fast) but different. Still gross as hell! They like dark and moist places. So so vile. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that!
