Will you take a look here? Suz has been buying Bare Minerals products that don’t fall into the “makeup” category!

Y’all know I’m always glued to each and every QVC presentation of Bare Minerals. Well, this year, they introduced some new products that have caught my attention. I’m already a fan of the new liquid foundation (1, 2), but now some skincare items have made their way into my collection; the Biolucent Minerals Brightening Treatment and the Mineralixirs Facial Cleansing Oil.

Back in March, I picked up a sample of the Brightening Treatment, as a FAB rewards freebie. I completely forgot about it for a few months until I saw a presentation for it on QVC months later. I started looking for reviews and testimonials. What I found was that there aren’t that many out there! But as a long sufferer of adult acne, I have quite a few scars and and a lot of uneveness. Then I remembered I had a sample. That was 2 weeks ago!

I’ve been using it ever since and I’ve noticed a definitely improvement in the tone of my skin. It said that I’m supposed to notice it 4 weeks and 8 weeks in, but I noticed it almost immediately. My mother even asked if I was doing something different! Not only that, it cleared up my skin, which is almost impossible to do in the summer. Blemish city, y’all! Now, I still got my usual month hormonal pimples, but they were smaller than usual (not cycstic ones) and healed/disappeared a lot faster. The only thing I changed was adding the brightening treatment to my routine, right before applying moisturizer.

I’m still not out of that deluxe sample, but I already bought a full size of it, so I won’t be without it, once it does run out. Judging from the past couple of weeks, this could be a staple for me for years to come!

Now, I waited 3 months to jump on the Oil Cleanser bandwagon. Well, not exactly. I bought that Garnier version a few months ago. (At the time, I didn’t know it was formulated for dry skin, which is not something I have) But it was pretty much the first drugstore version of an oil cleanser I’d ever seen, so I picked it up. I used it once, then noticed Mineral Oil was an ingredient. As someone with combo skin, I’m not exactly looking for that, even though I did want to try oil cleansers; predominantly for makeup removal.

I wasn’t able to find a ton of reviews of bare Minerals’ Oil Cleanser yet, either. It’s still currently exclusive to QVC, but the reviews on that site are glowing. And since I had a good experience with the Brightening treatment, I decided to take the plunge. I mean, what the heck! I have 30 days to try it out and see if I like it or not! Also, I used QVC gift cards to pay for it. Only cost me $6!

Bare Minerals has never done anything to harm my skin. Their big thing is that it is makeup (and now skincare) that’s good for your skin. Their goal is to put products in your hands that give you the coverage/look you want, but also improves the health of your skin. That’s always resonated with me.

So, even if all their makeup isn’t that WOC-friendly (I wear the darkest color they offer -____-), their skincare seems to be hitting the spot so far!

I will be sure to review the Oil Cleanser as soon as I feel I’ve tested it out thoroughly. I won’t have anything to compare it to, since I’m new to oil cleansing, but perhaps I’ll help someone else out that is searching for reviews and isn’t finding much.

Have any of you ventured into the world of Bare Minerals skincare? If so, what are your favorite products?
