I got an Influenster VoxBox at the beginning of the month, inviting me to visit Houlihan’s and check out their new menu items, created by Ali Maffucci of Inspiralized.com. The 3 special items are a substitute spiralized veggies in place of noodles and are lower in carbs & sugar.

The options were:

  • Thai ‘Noodle’ Salad
  • Butternut Squash and Sausage Lasagna
  • Sweet Potato, Corn & Bacon Mexicali Flatbread
  • My family and I decided to head to Houlihan’s tonight to see for ourselves what this #HouZoodles movement was all about. While my brother opted for a more traditional fare, my mother and I tackled the Inspiralized menu and rather enjoyed it!

We didn’t know what to expect, so our expectations were tempered, but we left impressed! My mom had the lasagna and I had the Mexicali flatbread. We both agreed that our entrees were true to their inspiration, but just happened to get to the destination in a different manner. The ingredients weren’t traditional, but the flavor that they created was very authentic. Sweet with a bit of spice.

These aren’t items that I typically go to restaurants and order, but I was really glad Influenster hooked me up. It really opened my eyes. Maybe I should be a little more adventurous when I go out to eat? Time will tell!

Disclosure: I received a voucher for two free meals from Influenster. No further compensation, thoughts are my own. As always.
