I Really Hate My Computer Sometimes…

I have complaining for quite some time about how my stupid computer annoys me and the connection goes out. I’ve tried to explain exactly what happens when that “A network cable is unplugged” bubble message keeps popping up, but I don’t think anyone really gets it.

Well, I did a video screen capture of it so you can see. When that stupid bubble pops up too often, I lose my connection.

The most annoying part of this is that absolutely NOTHING is unplugged, so I don’t know why it does this. It just does and has since the very first day I got this particular computer. No issues with the old one…

Anyway, check it out:

P.S. I really hate this theme. I was trying to find something that I could edit and put pictures from our yard in. Haven’t stumbled across such a theme yet. Meanwhile, I’m going to keep looking!

Sayonara Quantity!

It’s with extreme sorrow that I announce that my beloved camera, quantity, has kicked the bucket.

It has been acting weird for a while, so it was inevitable, I guess.

At the women’s Big Ten Swimming Champs, I took quantity out to shoot some video and saw a mysterious “Cover Opened” message. The weird part was that nothing was “open” on the camera. As a result, I couldn’t shoot video or pictures.

I took quantity to Cord Camera to get an official diagnosis. Turns out that the sensor that detects whether or not a cover is open had gone bad. And to make matters worse, quantity’s manufacturer, Kyocera, went out of business.

Now I have to win the lottery in order to replace him. I blame shopathometv.com for folding. They really fucked my shit up.

So, I guess that’s that. Quantity was a good and loyal camera. Captured a lot of fast swimming for me over the past 3 years. Thanks for the good times!

I Felt The Earth Move…

No really. I did. This morning, to be specific.

It was around 4:30 AM and I felt the house shake. We have a quarry around here, so at first I thought it was just a routine blast there. But this one lasted much longer and things in my room shifted a little. My alarm clock fell off my CD boombox.

I went back to sleep.

When I got up today I thought it was all a dream. Then I checked my email and saw on MSN that there was an earthquake in Illinois and the aftershocks (what happened) could be felt states away! Say WHAT?! This is so not allowed! Isn’t cold weather, blizzards, and tornados enough? Now we have to deal with earthquakes too? Oy vey.

Kobe and Shaq’s “Reunion”

Does this NBA Playoffs ad freak anyone else out as much as it does me?

I must say that I do miss the old days when they were teammates and winning championships for my uncle and PJ. That meant lots of free stuf for me. *sigh*

My Prayers Have Been Answered!

Ok, so I don’t really pray about trivial things like movies. Only money. Just kidding. Sort of.

Anyway, during my internet rounds, I came across an article about Gisele Bundchen. This post isn’t about her, although I wish she would rejoin the Victoria’s Secret Angels. The article in question stated that Gisele was rumored to be the female lead in the NEXT INSTALLMENT OF THE AUSTIN POWERS SERIES!

Those that know me well know how excited news of another Austin Powers movie makes me. I even watched the 1st movie on the CW today. Oh, irony. You are too much!

Yea, baby!

Listen To This: Robyn

Robyn version 2008The big pop explosion of the late 90s was a great time for music. I don’t care what anyone says! Britney, NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Aguilera, Mandy Moore and bubblegum pop made my life.

The music was fun, you could get your groove on and all was well.

The music movement had its fair share of imports, as well. One being a certain blonde singer from Sweden with golden pipes. Her name is Robyn.

I remember that I had a cassette single (yes, cassette) of her single “Do You Know What It Takes” that contained all the remixes. I think I still have it somewhere. I also adored “Show Me Love”. The industry and her label tried to turn her into the next Britney, but she rebeled and retreated back to Sweden. From there she mainly focused on her home country, the UK, and Europe.

Now she’s back stateside with her own sound and the critics are raving! Besides, who wants to be Britney right now anyway? I’d take her money, but I wouldn’t switch places with her for anything! No spank you!

Oh What A Beautiful Day!

It’s amazing how great weather can change my mood! It was in the mid-70s today and sunny and I was in a chipper mood all day.

My mother even noticed that I seemed more upbeat that usual. Not that I usually sulk around or anything. I’m generally a happy person. But the late arrival of spring added a bounce into my step!

I hope it keeps up because winter was absolutely brutal this year!

R.I.P. Skybus Airlines

Well, it was good while it lasted.

I only flew Skybus Airlines once, but I was planning on flying it again next month. None of that matters now that the company has folded.

Last year, I flew into Oakland’s ghetto airport, so I could visit Kiwi. The roundtrip fare cost me about $165. The other airlines were charding $300+. So, I have been singing Skybus’ praises ever since then.

If the financial situation weren’t so tight for me in the past 8 months, I probably would have flown Skybus 2-3 more times. The earlier you purchase, the cheaper the fares!

Back in March, I should have known something was up when I was researching fares for a May trip back to NorCal. The Skybus fares were actually more than the bigger airlines. That should have been my big warning flag.

So now, I have to look to the big overpriced airlines again. Skybus is just one of 3 airlines that folded last week. Anyone who says we aren’t in a recession is in denial.

Wanted: Jessica Simpson Brenda (Pink)

I don’t know if they’re comfortable or not (reviews are mixed), but they are super cute and I feel like I want a pair. I think it’s the color, more than anything, combined with my desire to finally start wearing spring clothes.

Since she started putting her name on designing shoes, I’ve noticed that there are always quite a few styles that I think are adorable! Right now, I’m loving the Brenda shoe in hot pink.

FIERCE!

Cool Site I Just Found

If you’re an internet-whore, like me, the following site may be quite helpful.

OpenTable.com was created to allow diners to book reservations at their restaurant of choice online!

I’m not a phone person and don’t use mine for much more than AIM, light internet browsing, and text messaging. I know picking up the phone and calling a restaurant doesn’t take long, but someone like me would prefer the internet. Whenever it’s possible, that’s the method I use when ordering pizza.

So take a look around, and see if OpenTable.com is for you!
