I Freakin’ Love Peyton Manning

YouTube Preview Image

I see why advertisers fall all over themselves to get him to hock their products/service. Every time I see this commercial I LOL. And not just a chuckle, but I’m cracking up! At this point it’s not like I don’t know how the commercial is going to play out, but it still makes me laugh. Well done, Peyton. Well done.

Outlast Passes Thanksgiving Test!

My HG Lipcolor?

My HG Lipcolor?

You know a longwear lipcolor is for real if it lasts through Thanksgiving Day dinner. Cover Girl’s Outlast held up superbly and I ate a lot, let me tell you!

I succumbed to the advertising of Cover Girl’s Outlast Lipcolor a couple of weeks back and was pretty impressed after my first couple of wearings. You know I’ve publicly stated that I am a fan of L’Oreal’s Infallible Lipstick and Lipcolor.

After the first application, I had moved Outlast ahead of the Infallible Lip Color and Lipstick. At first I thought I was overreacting because it was new, so I put on the Infallible again to make sure I wasn’t making a hasty decision. I wasn’t.

Outlast does NOT move. I put it on, let it set for a minute, then applied the topcoat. I put a Kleenex to my lips and not even a crumb of color came off. I can’t say the same for the L’Oreal, even though not much product transferred from my lips. But it was more than none!

I also ate with both products on. After I finished eating, I noticed that the L’Oreal lipcolor started to crumble a little on my lips, which was a little annoying. I tried to blot, in order to get some of those crumblies off my lips, but that didn’t work. The color still looked pretty good, but I press my lips together a lot and the crumbled pieces of color did not feel good.

After eating Thanksgiving dinner — with the Outlast on — there was no significant crumbling. I blotted my lips and a teeny tiny bit of product came off. I reapplied the topcoat and it looked exactly like when I had just applied the product hours earlier. I was impressed! And now it’s after midnight and my lips still look good! Cover Girl did the damn thing with Outlast. I have 2 colors, and will be purchasing more!

My only gripe with Outlast, and it’s really small, is that there are 2 separate tubes. The packaging of the Infallible products is the best in the business. I wish Cover Girl could find something different. But, it doesn’t really matter. I don’t have to take the original color with me to repply. After the initial application, all I need is the topcoat!

Jillian Michaels Kicked My Ass Yesterday

I seriously have workout A.D.D. in that I always want to try the “next thing” to see how it is or if it’s effective. I did that badass arm workout for like a week before something else caught my attention. That workout is Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred. If you’re not familiar with Jillian, she’s the in-your-face trainer from NBC’s “The Biggest Loser”. She packs a mean punch but gets the job done!

So, a couple of weeks ago, I made an overdue trip to CollageVideo to see what was new and what people were buying the most. Turns out that Jillian’s new workout “30 Day Shred” is the current #1 best seller over there. I read the reviews, watched the preview, and decided I wanted to try it.

Scrubs Comes Back Soon!

I was thiclose to being very salty earlier this spring. Rumors were swirling that NBC was going to cancel one of my favorite shows, “Scrubs”. I’ve been watching that show since it debuted and I wasn’t ready to say goodbye. NBC has a way of killing shows, so I was fearing the worst!

However, when the inevitable happened, I was surprisingly calm. That’s because I knew ABC was waiting in the wings to pick up the show. I breathed a sigh of relief.

So it gives me pleasure to share that promos for the show’s return have started airing and January 6 at 9 PM (ET) is the date “Scrubs” fans need to circle on their calendar. Yay!

So After Watching the AMA’s…

Stop me if you’ve heard this one! Just kidding.

I would rather have watched Desperate Housewives tonight, but since the American Music Awards air on ABC, that’s what I’m half-watching tonight. [Watch the performances here]

Watching NKOTB do the “Right Stuff” dance took me back. Waaaaaay back to when I was like 10 years old and fighting over which one of them was “mine” with my friends. Damn I’m old.

On to Rihanna. I didn’t want to like her. And for the longest time, I didn’t. But mostly because I thought she was biting my girl C-Mil’s look. (And she was. Check out pics of the early years of her career) But she started releasing all these songs that I just can’t get enough of. I’ve got her latest, “Rehab”, on perma-repeat. Just saw her AMA performance. She’s so pretty, but I’ll be damned if she isn’t the most boring performer in the industry right now. I know the song is slow/mid-tempo, but she can do more than strut across the stage. No stage presence whatsoever! I envision the hot choreography someone like Justin Timberlake could do with that song. Think “Cry Me A River”. But again, not an option with RiRi. She can’t dance to save her life, which is unfortunate because it would add another dimension to her act. Oh well.

Justin Timberlake Owns SNL

Seriously. Everytime he’s on there, his skits are full of win. Case in point: last night’s episode with Paul Rudd and Beyonce. Watch the hilarity below:

Comedy gold. Forget John Mayer. Justin Timberlake should have his own variety TV show.

I Hate The New Hotmail

They keep changing things and making me mad. It’s almost like facebook, except I really don’t have any alternatives there. I’m not going to stop using facebook and revert back to MySpace.

However, the bad news for Microsoft is that I don’t have any loyalty to them. I can take my email account elsewhere, and I shall.

What kills me is that other Hotmail users are pissed off too. It’s not about the interface for me. That’s whatever. For me, is that its not working well in Firefox, plus I have to close my admuncher program if I want to access my mail. Unacceptable.

So, I’m off to gmail full time, I guess. Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Bill Gates!

More Web Work For Me!

Nothing like finding out a script you can use in your sleep doesn’t work anymore, huh?

I own quite a few fanlistings. Not as many as I used to because I forget to check up on them. No really. I’m awful with that!

Anyway, the first script I used was CodeGrrl’s phpFanBase. It was simple and easy, and when I first started the website deal back in 2k1, I needed the simple.

Well, I now must part ways with phpFanBase because it is not compatible with PHP 5. I’ve been trying to find my way with Enthusiast, and I’m coming along slowly, but surely. I need to install the collective for all my swim fanlistings. If I weren’t so easily distracted, it’d only take an hour or so, but y’all know me! Thankfully, I’ve found a great tutorial to help me on my way! My FLs are spread out over many a domain!

If anyone else uses/used the CodeGrrl script, check your fanlistings and make sure it works!

Eeek! Found Another Fragrance!

This could be dangerous, yo! I went to Macy’s to get another whiff of the Beckham Signature for Her from one of the tester bottles. Love it even more!

Calvin Klein has a winner in Euphoria

Calvin Klein has a winner in Euphoria

But on my way there, I passed the Calvin Klein Euphoria display and tested it out as well. I LOVE THAT ONE TOO! Man!

I took the sprayed sample cards to my mom and she likes both of the fragrances as well. She said she was glad she wasn’t the one who had to decide between them. A lot of help she is!

At this point, I like the Beckham scent better, but damnit, I want both! I’ll have to continue to shop around and see what I can find. I will have both by New Year’s, mark my words!

Wow

I totally just spent the past hour watching a QVC infomercial on Bare Minerals. I was only going to watch for like 10 minutes until SportsCenter came on, but I got sucked in!

No, I didn’t buy anything, but it prompted me to do a little research considering BM is my full coverage makeup of choice. I noticed that my foundations have expiration dates on them, and lately I’ve been thinking “should I replace these?”. My face is so sensitive and acne prone, that I don’t think I need to be putting expired shit on there, ya know?

But after doing some research, I’ve learned that the expiration dates were required by the FDA, but are no indication of how good the products are good for. So, I’m good to go! I don’t wear makeup like foundation that often, so I’m not going through my vials that fast. I’m still working on the 5-piece Starter Kit I got from Sephora a few years ago! The only item I’ve had to replace was the mineral veil, because that stuff is the shizz and I use it a lot, even with other makeup brands.

Speaking of Sephora… it’s Friends & Family week! Enter the code FF2008 between now and Monday, at Sephora.com, to get 20% off your order. It’s not good in stores. You’ll need a special printed coupon for that.

Back to Bare Minerals, though. I am looking at some of their new stuff. Having quality makeup brushes is important, so I am considering purchasing this gold clutch with a good selection of brushes in it. It was only like $49, but included 5 basic and everyday brushes that would cost much, much more if ordered separately. I can’t find the item on the QVC website, but I’ll track it down eventually. I always do! Found it!

You should all be proud that I spent that much time watching an infomercial and did NOT order anything. I’ve been sucked in before, which resulted in pain to my checking account. *coughTURBOJAMcough*
