Doing Another Round of ChaLEAN Extreme

'Time to get extreme, baby!'

'Time to get extreme, baby!'

I’ve been contemplating this for a while and decided — within the past hour — that I’m ready for another round of ChaLEAN Extreme.

If you’re relatively new to my blog, then you probably don’t know that I did my first round from February through May of this year with great results! I also documented every step right here. At the end of every week of the 90-day program, I wrote a post about my experiences, how I was feeling, and any changes in my appearance/fitness.

My one minor gripe about ChaLEAN Extreme was that it really bulked up my thighs. Yes, it was muscle, but my jeans were very tight and I did not enjoy that! I messaged Chalene on Twitter (follow her, she’s great!) to get some tips on how to minimize the bulking up of my thighs and she suggested more cardio and decreasing the weight load I use on lower body exercises. Sounds like a good idea! After I finished, I noted that I didn’t think the program, in its most basic rotation calendar, gave me enough cardio work. I went directly into Couch to 5k training and felt extremely out of shape. I will be sure to work more cardio (Turbo Jam!) in this time around!

What I love most about ChaLEAN Extreme is that I have my workout schedule set for the next 3-4 months and it’ll force me to keep working out through the holidays! I know exactly what I’ll be doing and can plan for it every day. So, here I go…again! “Time to get extreme, baby!”

My New iPhone App Crush

It’s no secret that I am absolutely addicted to my iPhone. It pretty much owns me and I’m completely ok with that. Almost every day, I discover a new reason to be appreciative of the developers that gave us jailbreaking and the Cydia store. Seriously, if you haven’t jailbroken your iPhone, you are missing out on a crapload of cool features and apps.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I have entirely too many photo apps. There are so many that do so many neat things, and I can’t get enough! I’m constantly taking pictures with my iPhone and often I’ll reach for it before my cute little point and shoot. That never used to happen when I was a Sidekick owner.

The knock on smartphone cameras, in general, is that it takes a few seconds and maneuvers in order to start it up. By then, your “moment” may have passed. On an iPhone, you must exit the app you are using, find your camera app (or double-tap home button, if that’s your set up), and then wait an additional 3-4 seconds for the camera to be ready to capture your shot. Then, you have to go back to the app you were using and your progress/work/spot will be lost.

In the grand scheme of things, this isn’t a huge deal, but for camera whores like me it is. This is where new jailbreak app Snappy comes in!

With Snappy, you simply tap and hold your status bar for a second or so, and you’re ready to shoot! It doesn’t matter if you’re in another app or if your phone is locked. Snappy will instantly load and you are good to go! Its design mimics the native iPhone camera, so there isn’t anything new to learn there. Simple and fast camera shooting for $1.99.

Here’s a video that does a better job of explaining the awesome features of Snappy:

Twitter Is Taking Over My Life!

So, I just realized that I haven’t written a new post here in over a month! That’s craaaaaazy!

At one point, I was up to 20+ posts per month. But then I wasn’t as big a Twitter addict as I am now. Actually, that’s probably not true. I’ve always been a pretty active Tweeter. It’s just that a lot of the things I would write about here, I just tweet about in the form of a condensed tweet. And on top of that, I may have a blog that is specifically about the subject I tweet about. (Y’all must know by now that I have 5029509 different sites) In that case, I would essentially be writing a post twice and who has time for that? Not me!

So, I guess what I’ve got to do is decide what to tweet or blog about. It’s just so much faster to send out a quick tweet because I don’t have to worry about post structure or adding pictures/multimedia. I usually put a little more thought into posts appearing here. I talk a lot of fitness, makeup, and all things iPhone here. I sprinkle in some tennis because I love me some Williams sisters.

So, I’ll figure out a way to get back to normal posting. Going a month without blogging is simply unacceptable! To get back into the groove, I’m going to shoot for one post per week. Then go from there! I need to get everyone back to kissing my black ass!
