Never Stop Learning!

These days, you have your choice of fine institutions if you’re looking to finish your degree, want to get an additional degree, never thought you had time for college, or a number of other reasons.

And you’ve probably seen your fair share of commercials and other advertising dedicated to online learning. This is another medium.

Walden University is another option if you’re looking to get your “scholarly groove back”. Visit their website to learn about Walden. It gives you everything you need to make the decision of whether or not online education and/or Walden University is for you.

Walden University’s online degree programs include Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral offerings in various fields like Psychology, Nursing, Management, and Communication. If those don’t particularly interest you, individual courses are also available.

You can view an informational video that shows you an online course demonstration as well as check out the process (and options) for qualifying for and obtaining financial aid.

And if other questions you may have aren’t answered simply by viewing the website, there is contact information that will help put you in touch with support staff.

I’ve often pondered getting an additional degree myself. Immediately after college, I was very close to beginning an MBA program. I decided to take another path, but as my interests change, my thirst for knowledge increases, and I already know that online learning would be the route I’d take.

So, if you’re curious, why not give WaldenU.edu a look? It can’t hurt! Good luck!

Dealing with renters

Author: Joseph Sandoval

We just bought a second home. It is not the best second home. It is not at the beach or on a lake and it is really nothing special. It is more of an investment than an entertainment place. My husband and I decided we could find renters and change a rent high enough to cover the mortgage. This sounds like a great plan, right? Well, renters are a pain! They are like small children. I sometimes wonder why they can’t do anything themselves. They call about everything. The door squeaks and they call. The house creaks and they call. They actually called me yesterday to set up their television. This seems like a crazy request, but I did it to honor their wishes. Part of me wanted to get them the worst deal possible, but I decided that would be mean. I set it up through http://EXPERTSATELLITE.com in seconds. Then I made the big mistake, I asked if they needed me to set up anything else. Don’t ever ask that when you are already doing something you don’t want to do. Now I have to find a lawn service and a babysitter for their three children. I am not sure this “investment” is going to be a good one.

Everybody Loves A Good Pair of Scrubs

Scrubs aren’t just for those in the medical profession! Oh no!

You’re reading the blog of a girl who has countless pairs of scrubs and none of them have anything to do with my health! During my college days scrubs were a staple in my wardrobe. Whether it was because I rolled out of bed 15 minutes before class, and needed something quick, or a comfy and cute way to commemorate a fun social event thrown by my sorority.

I still wear them from time to time, and are a much better alternative to those god awful Pajama Jeans (just say no, ladies!).

Blue Sky Scrubs offers a great selection of cute, and fashionably acceptable, scrubs available at the following URL: http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/Scrubs-for-Women/Original-Scrubs/

Should you purchase any of Blue Sky’s all cotton scrubs, be sure to keep in mind that they may shrink when you wash them! Scrubs aren’t meant to be tight!

And what does it say about me that now I feel like I need to go watch the TV show, Scrubs? Oh well. I’m not ashamed! I love it!

Kids and I at the Beach

Post contributed by Leonard Phelps

My kids and I have decided to rent a place on the Outer Banks for a week and a half this year which somewhere I’ve never been even though I’ve lived in Carolina all my life. I can’t believe all the good things I hear about it from the fresh seafood to the desolation, and my daughters are just excited about getting a tan. I think I’ve got everything all ready to go in terms of the house as I recently got an alarm at http://totalAlarmSystems.com or somewhere like that and we’ve gotten a new set of luggage for the whole family at Christmas. My neighbor said she’d feed the cat while we were gone and I have a black thumb anyway, so there are no plants to keep alive! I can’t wait to get away with the girls and my husband for a week or so and really just take my mind off of work. I’m sure everyone out there feels this way and I’m just fortunate my schedule allows it!

The Ellen DeGeneres Show is the Best

Thanks for the post, Arthur Lawrence

My favorite talk show would have to be the Ellen DeGeneres Show. In today’s news, there are always so many sad and depressing stories. Because of this, I feel as if I often need a pick me up. The Ellen show is one that will always make me laugh. There are always great current and interesting guests on the show and Ellen is one of the funniest people on television today. The fact that she does not take herself seriously makes it even funnier. she is not afraid to poke fun at herself. I am glad that I am able to record and watch the show on satellite television from CannonSatellite.com since I am usually at work when the show is on. I especially love when there is a cooking guest or someone demonstrating a product on the show. There is usually great physical comedy of some sort that will ensue. Another favorite on the show is when there are challenges or things that Ellen has set up where she gets audience participation. If only the show was taped near my home. I would love to see it in person.

The Chicago Bulls Are Making Their Playoff Push!

Yes, they’ve already locked up a spot in the NBA Playoffs, but the way they’re playing now (and the way the rest of the teams in the Eastern Conference isn’t playing) is steadily increasing the likelihood that they will have home court advantage until the Finals, should they make it there.

Right now, they are playing the best ball in the East, and it’s not even close! So, if you’d like to see the Chicago Bulls play, the rest of this season, Ticket America will hook you up!

TicketAmerica.com has tickets for the Chicago Bulls the United Center and lots of NBA tickets.

And as someone who saw the legendary Michael Jordan play, in Chicago, I know that United Center tickets can be hard to come by. Meaning, sometimes you need all the help you can get!

If the Bulls aren’t your team, Ticket America still has you covered if you’re looking for other NBA tickets.

Recycled CD case picture frame

Guest post written by Alexis Robertson

I’m always on the look out for new ways to reuse and recycle the things that I already have. I’ve actually been doing this for a while now just because I’m a huge crafter and it’s much more fun to repurpose something instead of buying a kit or making something from scratch. So when I was cleaning out my old entertainment center I found all kinds of old CD cases for CDs I hadn’t seen in years, so I thought I’d do some kind of neat craft with them.

I went online to try and get a little bit of inspiration to see exactly what I could do with them. While I was looking for all of that, I ran across this website WildBlueDeals.com and after I looked through it a little bit, I decided to sign up for the internet service for my household. My old provider hadn’t been cutting it for a while anyway.

As I was looking for craft ideas online, I came to the conclusion that a CD case picture frame would be so simple to make. You just stick a picture, and if you want, some decorative paper into the case and you have yourself a neat little picture frame. I took a few of them to work with me.

Baby, It’s Cold Outside!

Just a few days ago, it was 70 degrees in Columbus, OH. But that changed. Now it’s cold. I’m thrilled we got not one, but two, Indian Summers this year, but as I sit here in the warmth of my space heater, I’m not looking forward to this sudden chill.

And with the drop in temperatures, comes the retrieval of my North Face Denali from storage. It’s the coat I turn to before I bust out the heavy artillery!

If you’re shopping around for some North Face merch, I highly recommend checking out Zappos. Not only do they have a large selection of items — from jackets to bags & boots — but you also get free shipping…wait for it… BOTH WAYS! So, if for some reason your purchase doesn’t work out for you, return shipping is free as well!

A friend was just asking me about Zappos the other day, and I vouched for the validity of their company. I’m even a VIP customer somehow. I’m still not sure what that means, because everyone already gets free shipping, but I like the sound of it and being part of an exclusive club.

I would be remiss to not tell you what I think the best part of Zappos is: the customer reviews! They are a must-read! If you want to know how something fits, previous purchasers will let you know. If you want to know what an product’s material feels like, they’ll let you know that as well. So, it’s a very great resource for all kinds of shopping.

Yo, Check it: Beyond the Rack

Beyond the Rack

Have you ever tuned into a red carpet show to see what the celebs are wearing and thought, “man! I would love to have that dress in my closet!”? Or maybe you flipped through People Magazine and saw a pair of slick booties to die for? I don’t know about y’all, but I have! And never mind the fact that I’d have no place to wear these items. That’s not the point!

The point is that there’s a shopping club, Beyond the Rack, that can help you get some of the high end pieces without you having to shell out retail prices. Sounds good, right?

And it’s not limited to clothing. You can also shop for accessories, home decor items, and much more.

How it works is you register on the site and you will be invited to shop special online events, where you can get designer name brands for killer deals! Now there’s a small window for these sales (about 48 hours), so don’t wait too long if you see something you like!

Happy shopping! This only points out that it’s been forever and a day since I’ve been to a mall…Hmmm.

O/T: Isn’t it too bad there isn’t a site that allows you to just borrow celeb looks, like they do? Oh well!
