I don’t delve into politics much, especially not on here. But after watching the news today, I have to vent.
I’ve been reserving judgement on the Democratic candidate race until I hear all I need to. There have been some things about Hillary that I’ve liked and certain traits Obama posesses that I like as well.
But I have to say something about this and a similar report on the NBC Nightly News.
I don’t know if this angle is Bill’s doing thus exhibiting more of his poor judgement, but to claim and complain that Hillary’s gender is stopping voters from supporting her at the polls ludicrous. (Note the correct spelling, kiddos. Ludacris is a rapper) To claim that people aren’t voting for her because she is a woman and Obama a man, is laughable.
I don’t know if she’s noticed, but Obama is black. He isn’t going around complaining that he’s lost on the white vote because he’s black. Hillary continues to be the sole beneficiary of that voter pool. Some may say that the campaign was neutralized by these two factors, but I wouldn’t go that far. If you ask me, Hillary being female (but white) is still an advantage compared to Obama, who is black (but a man).
As someone who is both a woman and black, there is no contest. As Chris Rock says “if it’s white, it’s all right!”
So Hillary — and indirectly Bill — STFU.
ETA: Everyone read the comments from story. These people are with me on my stance. I still can’t believe Hillary — and her female supporters — claim sexism is so prevelant, but not racism. She’s always so quick to thank her “hard working Americans” AKA “white voters”. Whatevs, Hill. If she doesn’t drop this “woe is me, sexism is holding me back” stance soon, I can see myself becoming a solid Obama supporter in the next couple of weeks.
