My 2010 Fitness Journey: Part 4, TurboFire

I’ve told you all about the beginning steps of 2010 fitness journey: setting a routing, phase 1 with Turbo Jam, and phase 2 with ChaLEAN Extreme. The final step in this 9 month journey has been TurboFire, Chalene Johnson’s latest cardio and kick-boxing inspired workout.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m a Turbo Jam addict. When I first ordered TJ from QVC back in the day, after watching a special informercial, I was sooooo excited! As I’ve said before, I had been doing Firm workouts. And while I was happy to be doing something, I wasn’t exactly getting results. Turbo Jam changed that, plus it was so much more fun! It didn’t, and still doesn’t, feel like work.

TurboFire is the same way! I think of it as Turbo Jam on steroids! It is intense and definitely not a beginner’s workout, although there is a modifier to help you out. I would recommend tackling Turbo Jam before TurboFire, so you can familiarize yourself with the choreography, unless you just can’t wait and want the challenge right away! Can’t fault you for that! As much as I love Turbo Jam, I love TurboFire all that much more!

Video: Beachbody Noob on Setting Routines & Time Management

Here’s the second video I recorded in my journey as a Beachbody coach trying to create and establish my own business. It’s all about the routine I set after I dedicated myself to this opportunity and how I manage my time. My routine is ever-evolving (due to how easily distracted I am!) but I like how I’ve broken things down thus far.

Keys to my time management and productivity? My iPhone note taking app, Hootsuite, and my to-do app. All tools I can access from my desktop or my iPhone.

My 2010 Fitness Journey: Part 3, ChaLEAN Extreme + Extra Cardio

After jump starting my aerobic fitness with 6 or so weeks of Turbo Jam, I was ready for the next challenge. Last year, I did a round of ChaLEAN Extreme and absolutely loved it. I learned a lot about strength training and what my body responds to during it and thought that it should be part of my journey once more.

One concern I had about my first round of ChaLEAN Extreme was that it bulked up my thighs a little. Yes, it was muscle, but added bulk wasn’t going to help me fit back into my pants this time around, so I asked the creator of the program, Chalene Johnson, what I should do to minimize this action. She suggested lowering the weight load for lower body moves and increasing my cardio beyond what was part of the program. Sounds good!

Video: Are You A New Beachbody Coach? SO AM I!

The story goes that YouTube is chock full of testimonials from Beachbody coaches who have succeeded or well on the way to success. They share their stories and tips, and it’s a great motivational tool! Try and watch their vids and not get pumped up! I dare you! But what about the new (or soon to be new) Beachbody coaches who are actually going through the process right now? I didn’t see that point of view on YouTube, and thought it might prove to be an invaluable and comforting resource for future noobs. I know I’d feel a little bit better about the process if I saw this type of video on YouTube right now as I begin to navigate the coaching waters. So, I took it upon myself to start vlogging. I don’t usually do it, but this business is all about helping people, is it not? I want to help the future Diamond Star coaches of tomorrow!

So, below is my introduction where I explain, in a little more detail, what I plan to do with my videos. You’ll also get your first look at my personality. I know I’m goofy on here, but I’m faaaaar more animated in person. You’ll see as I continue to record and document my Beachbody journey!

What’s With All This Beachbody Talk?

Good question! And I’m finna break it down for you right now!

If you peruse the archives of this site, you’ll notice a large amount of posts dedicated to various programs under the Beachbody umbrella; ChaLEAN Extreme, Turbo Jam, TurboFire in particular. I wasn’t paid to talk about those programs. I was (and still do) working through them as part of my fitness routine and sharing my experiences with all of you. Aren’t I brave? 😉

I am now a registered Beachbody Independent Coach and I’m at your service! No, I’m not a personal trainer (although I have thought about it) nor am I an instructor, but I know how those programs work and can offer some assistance to those who may be thinking about taking the plunge. This is especially important as the holiday season draws near!

I’m not really going to be doing anything differently around here. I will keep talking about my experiences with Beachbody products; the good and bad. But there will be links placed throughout this blog. I already do that with several other affiliate programs such as iTunes and Didn’t even notice, did ya? This is the same deal!
