I know I’m not really allowed to be a Tim Tebow fan, sitting here in the thick of Buckeye Nation, but that guy is good peoples and he is great for college football. I wish there were more athletes in his mold. He’s got his head on straight and his priorities set. I respect that.

My Buckeye fandom will probably be called into question since we currently have the only 2-time Heisman winner in Archie Griffin. Funny story, my mom almost ran him over on campus back in the day. He really should look where he’s walking. Just because you’re on a college campus doesn’t mean you’re invincible!

All that aside, if anyone was going to be the next repeat Heisman Trophy winner, I can’t think of a better individual than Tim Tebow. I think he does just that this weekend. Sam Bradford and Colt McCoy are both in the Big 12 and I think they will cancel each other out, leaving Tebow as the runaway winner. No inside intelligence here, just what I think will happen.

FWIW, I think Colt McCoy deserves it more this year. He’s done more for his team with less around him. Florida and Oklahoma are full of superstars on both sides of the field. I don’t see a lot of “names” on Texas’ roster. And McCoy is doing what Tebow did last year with all the rushing and passing for his team. I think he’s clearly the best player in CFB, but not all people will cast their votes as such.

It’s all good. Though I will say that my favorite Buckeye better be on that invite list next year.

The 2008 Heisman Trophy Winner will be announced Saturday at 8 PM (ET) on ESPN.
