The fact that I’m wanting to get more must mean that I was impressed, right? You got it! I used a P&G $2.50 off of 2 products coupon combined with some some CVS Extra bucks I had earned. Those savings essentially made the 2 products BOGO for me. Sweet deal, right?

When I was researching, prior to purchase, I came across a few tips to vary how it was worn. Many were recommending using your fingers to apply just a tiny bit of product. That effectively made it a lip stain with long lasting wear. A nice change from full coverage when you only want a dash of color. I liked that tip and use it frequently because I’ve never been crazy about a big full mouth of color, ya know? I like a more “natural” look.
Well, apparently Cover Girl read my mind and has now released a new product: CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain.
I saw an ad (and coupons) for it in the Sunday paper today and immediately hopped online to find out more about it. I think I’ma head on over to CVS tomorrow and pick up a color or two. I’m intrigued. I’ll share my findings afterwards!
ETA: Picked up a couple of colors, that the Cover Girl website suggested for me, this afternoon. Will review this evening.
I succumbed to the advertising of Cover Girl’s Outlast Lipcolor a couple of weeks back and was pretty impressed after my first couple of wearings. You know I’ve publicly stated that I am a fan of L’Oreal’s Infallible Lipstick and Lipcolor.
After the first application, I had moved Outlast ahead of the Infallible Lip Color and Lipstick. At first I thought I was overreacting because it was new, so I put on the Infallible again to make sure I wasn’t making a hasty decision. I wasn’t.
Outlast does NOT move. I put it on, let it set for a minute, then applied the topcoat. I put a Kleenex to my lips and not even a crumb of color came off. I can’t say the same for the L’Oreal, even though not much product transferred from my lips. But it was more than none!
I also ate with both products on. After I finished eating, I noticed that the L’Oreal lipcolor started to crumble a little on my lips, which was a little annoying. I tried to blot, in order to get some of those crumblies off my lips, but that didn’t work. The color still looked pretty good, but I press my lips together a lot and the crumbled pieces of color did not feel good.
After eating Thanksgiving dinner — with the Outlast on — there was no significant crumbling. I blotted my lips and a teeny tiny bit of product came off. I reapplied the topcoat and it looked exactly like when I had just applied the product hours earlier. I was impressed! And now it’s after midnight and my lips still look good! Cover Girl did the damn thing with Outlast. I have 2 colors, and will be purchasing more!
My only gripe with Outlast, and it’s really small, is that there are 2 separate tubes. The packaging of the Infallible products is the best in the business. I wish Cover Girl could find something different. But, it doesn’t really matter. I don’t have to take the original color with me to repply. After the initial application, all I need is the topcoat!
I touched on my search for a HG mascara in a previous post, and after a week of experiementation, Ibelieve that I have found something that works great for me.
Cover Girl Lash Blast wins! Usually when a product gets a ton of positive reviews online, it piques my curiosity. Especilly when those raves can be found at MakeupAlley. So, I went out and bought a tube and put it into rotation with Maybelline’s Great Lash and L’Oreal’s Voluminous.
While, I liked the thickness of Great Lash and Voluminous, I found I could get the same effect from Lash Blast if I simply applied a couple of coats. But I never could get out of Great Lash and Voluminous was the same degree of separation and volume that Lash Blast gave me. Lash Blast also did not clump, while the other two did. Also, I have a few unruly lashes that, even after being curled, didn’t respond well to any mascara except Lash Blast. To back up my observations, I took pictures of my eyes each day.
All signs pointed to Lash Blast, so that is my new every day mascara. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a great mascara. I am not willing to splurge on the designer brands when Cover Girl gets it done!
ETA: I believe that I like the waterproof version better than the original. My lashes look better even after I wash the stuff off. And those uncooperative lashes that only Lash Blast worked on? They seemed to have straightened out over the past few days of only using Lash Blast. I have more and more positive things to say as I continue to wear this mascara. Go get a tube ASAP!
