I’d like to talk about my laptop. His name is Rafa, and we’ve been together 7 years. That’s an eternity for a Windows laptop; at least for me. Rafa’s sole purpose in life was to be my “travel/business” computer when I attended and covered swim meets. He’s served me well and continues to do so, even with a massive crack on his screen.
But you know what sucks about Rafa? Battery life. If I’m fortunate, I’ll get a good 2 hours out of in, unplugged. That’s pathetic. So, I started looking around for a battery replacement. You never know when I might need to rely a little more heavily upon my dear friend.
Looking up HP Laptop Battery, lead me to Battery Heads. I saw a range of batteries at reasonable prices. I can sort the products by name, price, and other factors. Each listing contains a description of the product, compatibility, and specs. The only thing I’d like to have seen is reviews. But still good!
The site is easy to navigate and, if you’re not comfortable ordering online, there’s a 1-800 number for your convenience. (This is what my mother would use. She will never trust the Internetz) Battery Heads even sells on Amazon (bonus points), and has a very high customer satisfaction review on there. That means a lot coming from someone who shops frequently in the Amazon Marketplace.
Something I wasn’t expecting to see — that I’m glad they advertise — is a rechargeable battery recycling program. I have tons of “dead” batteries lying around from my various electronics. So, in addition to what I replace from Rafa, I could have quite the haul to send in.
I have to decide whether or not to replace Rafa’s battery or screen first. They both need some TLC, and at least I know where to start for battery replacement! Any recommendations for cracked laptop screens? Never hurts to ask…
