Sorry this is so late. Daylight Saving Time, messed me up. And then my computer didn’t want to let me pull up the site. It was really weird. RoadRunner would tell me that the site “could not be found”. I know it’s there, RR! Stop hating! *shakes fist*

Anyway, I finished Week 5 of ChaLEAN Extreme, which was also the first week of the Push Phase of the program.

During the Burn Phase, Chalene instructed us to choose weights that would only allow us to complete 10-12 reps. This month, the goal is 6-8 weights, so the mantra is “go heavy or go home!”

I took on that challenge and genuinely surprised myself in the process!

Final Part of Week 5 Podcast Up!

I finished the third part of the Week 5 workout for the Couch to 5k plan earlier this evening.

You can download it from my Feedburner page. Tonight it’s a 20 minute run! Lawd, give me strength!

It’s getting kind of windy here, so I hope the rain holds off 2 more hours so I can get my run in! Cross your fingers for me!

ETA: The 20 minute run wasn’t so bad! Before I knew it, I was at the halfway point, and felt good! Never underestimate how having a great playlist of songs can make a run fly by! Bring on Week 6! I think I’m eventually going to need some new running shoes, though. Any suggestions?

Week 5 Podcast Ready!

Ok, I’m back on track for now! I finished the first part of the Week 5 Couch to 5k podcast.

This week is different from the others in that every workout is different. So, I went ahead and created the Day 1 workout. After your warm-up, you’ll alternate 5 minute runs and 3 minute recoveries three times before your cool down walk.

I strayed from Hip Hop and made a bee line to Teen Pop. You know what I’m talking about. The late 90s bubblegum pop explosion headlined by Britney, Christina, NSYNC, and the Backstreet Boys. It’s fun music that I wish would make more of a comeback in this day where talentless people like Soulja Boy and D4L can enjoy chart success. *shudders*

Download the podcast from my Feedburner feed. I will create the next podcast tonight or tomorrow using the same playlist of music. I just need to record and insert the vocal cues, but that shouldn’t take long at all.
